Portrait – Where Strategy Becomes Style
ABERHAM Design is one of a kind. The company is not part of any network and has therefore been able to operate flexibly and independently for its 35-year history. From its studio in the Flingern district of Düsseldorf, ABERHAM Design creates and oversees design projects for companies and institutions throughout Germany and Europe.
Since 1980, ABERHAM Design has been a small but sophisticated address for strategic and stylistically mature brand and communication design. Building on the packaging design expertise of its founder Ottmar Aberham, the company’s excellent feel for style and branding was soon sought out for crafting complex corporate image concepts and umbrella branding projects both nationally and internationally. After a transition period of a few years, in 2007 Morris Aberham took over the firm from his father. Now in the second generation, ABERHAM Design presides over a tangible and mature expertise. Ottmar Aberham is still in the picture, where he helps the team out as a freelance advisor. The team consists of five full-time employees and several freelancers, thus staying small and concentrated in order to provide clients truly personalized consultation and project management. The agency’s working style is characterized by the search for the best possible logical connection between strategic positioning, creative ideas, and stylistically sophisticated design. ABERHAM Design distinguishes itself through the combination of keen market observation, conceptually concentrated sketch technique, and finally the professional use of the latest digital methods. A good feel for the projects, the right idea, and the mastery of graphic, photographic, and verbal craftsmanship make up the foundation of the creative culture from which precise solutions and style systems arise, and which are typical of ABERHAM Design.
