Brand development of Schlüssel Alt (1989)
Conception and design of the original brand and the appearance of the first launch of the traditional beer brand Schlüssel Alt.
In 1989, the traditional Düsseldorf brewery Gatzweiler asked ABERHAM Design to give their beer brand »Schlüssel Alt« a new appearance and to position it prominently. Ottmar Aberham developed a completely new, never done before heraldry out of a »golden key (Schlüssel)«, grain, and an indulgence visual in the center. For about 30 years, this concise, monochrome coat of arms has been the emblem of the brewery in Düsseldorf’s old town as well as the emblem on the bottles which are now sold in shops outside of the brewery.
